The Rose Garden at Singer Castle on Dark Island
Chippewa Bay, NY

The Rose Garden at Singer Castle is a vibrant space; enclosed by towering, rustic stone walls, overlooking the majestic St. Lawrence River. The garden is full of heirloom annuals and perennials as well as roses. The flowers are all started from seed in my greenhouse and despite the harsh Northern New York weather; the garden flourishes brilliantly all summer long.
I created this storybook setting to be a respite for the visitors who tour the castle and, as well, to provide a romantic and lush area for the weddings held within its borders. Each year the garden is host to many weddings on the island, and serves as the ideal setting: bursting with color, wafting with natural perfume and encompassed by walls and water.
The Gardens at the Antique Boat Museum
Clayton, NY

The Antique Boat Museum is unrivaled in its collection of historic and treasured wooden boats, its amazing buildings and lovely location on the St. Lawrence River.
To enhance this magnificent facility, I’ve designed two gardens to compliment the unique campus. Both are awash with hues of blue, white, pink and burgundy; rambling shrubs and glorious roses. These gardens are ever-changing and I encourage all visitors to return often to see the many surprises awaiting you.
